Greg Street, the executive producer for Riot’s MMO, has announced today on his Twitter that he will be stepping down from his role at Riot Games. For those that do not know, Greg Street has worked on popular games such as Age of Empires, World of Warcraft, and League of Legends.
Greg Street said, “it was a combo of personal and professional considerations that led him to this path.” If you have not been keeping up to date with Greg Street on his Twitter, Greg lost his brother last year and had to take a break to be with his father who did not have long to live.
Due to the tragic event that happens to Greg’s family, Greg wants to focus more on what really matters the most to him.
We believe that Greg Street has laid a foundation, and the MMO is now in the development stage. The development will be able to continue without him, but this is a significant loss for Riot. He was the face of Riot’s MMO and the only person who enjoy communicating with the community.
Understandably, the executive producer role is very demanding, and with the recent loss of a loved one, one would refocus on what matters the most in life. We wish Greg Street good luck with his new endeavor and are excited about the new adventures that await him.
